The SHRM Foundation Director for the Indiana State Council’s role is to support our chapters in their Foundation efforts, and to spearhead our Foundation state initiatives.
The SHRM Foundation is an active organization that advances our profession in a number of ways. The charity affiliate of SHRM, it is a values-based charity organization that champions workforce and workplace transformation and inspires HR professionals to make it happen.
We support the foundation by inspiring the HR Community throughout the state to donate their time, talent and treasure.
The Foundation supports research and thought-leadership to advance our workplaces and our professional. For the next two years, the Foundation is focused on research and tools that drive the creation of diverse and inclusive workplaces.
At the state and chapter level, how might we encourage our members to donate their time to future these goals and impact our own communities?
The Foundation awards a number of scholarships to professionals and students to obtain undergraduate or graduate degrees, obtain their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification, or attend SHRM conferences and seminars.
Who in your chapter, or in our state, as been the recipient of any of these scholarships?
At both the state and local level, we engage in fundraising activities to donate our treasure to the SHRM Foundation. Every dollar raised goes to support the Foundation’s scholarship and thought-leadership activities.
While the 2016 data is not yet available, in 2015 the Indiana State Council of SHRM was number 8 in the list of top ten state council fundraisers!
The Indiana State Council and our Indiana chapters have a long history of supporting the SHRM Foundation. We look forward to working together to make 2017 our strongest year to date.
