When you are onsite during the conference, look for committee members in the teal shirts with the HR Indiana Logo. We will have volunteers stationed in many locations to help guide you to the various locations. They will be happy to answer your questions.
You never know what the weather will be like in Indianapolis! But seriously, even though it is August outside, it can sometimes be a little chilly during conference sessions. Dress in layers so you’ll always be prepared! And, if you’re looking for some new layers, check out all the stylish swag the bookstore has to offer.
If you arrive on Sunday we have early registration! Registration hours on Sunday, August 11, are 2:00 to 6:00 pm.??? You will find Registration on the Third Floor of the JW Marriott hotel. Watch for signs. Monday and Tuesday registration hours are 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.
There will be a Jump Start session once again this year at 7:00 am on Monday, August 12 in JW Grand 3, 4 for new conference attendees.
We are again offering free WiFi for the conference this year, sponsored by Ogletree Deakins! You’ll see information on how to connect when you arrive.
We are pumped to be powered with the Whova conference app again this year. Get started with the video tutorial, sign in with the email you used to register, and search for “HR Indiana Annual Conference” in the app.
You can follow us on Facebook and Twitter during the conference. On Twitter, add @hrindianashrm. The hashtag for the conference is #HRIndiana. Like us on Facebook (@HR IndianaSHRM). We will have a live Twitter feed on the Third Floor Prefunction area outside Grand 5 and 6 as well as in the Exhibit Hall.
Continental breakfast is available every morning at the conference and lunch is served on Monday and Tuesday in the Exhibit Hall. The closing lunch on Wednesday is in the JW Marriott in Grand 5, 6.
The hotel also has two restaurants on the first level and a Starbucks on the second floor.
Your feedback on our conference speakers is critical to the success of our event each year, and we are making it easy for you to speak your mind! Within the Whova conference app, you may rate each speaker on a 5-star rating scale at the end of each session. Better yet, each time you rate a speaker, your name is entered into a daily drawing for prizes! The first day we’re giving away a free book from the HR Indiana SHRM Bookstore, the second day we’re awarding a $30 credit in the bookstore, and the third day we’re awarding a free registration to the 2020 HR Indiana Conference!!! So please review speakers every chance you get!
We will be uploading several speaker handouts on our Whova app. Please make sure to download the app prior to the conference. Keep checking for additions. Remember, we are offering free WiFi at the conference again this year, so you can download them on your smartphone or tablet.
