Indiana SHRM
Become a Member

There are multiple ways to become a member of SHRM, and each comes with unique opportunities and benefits. Membership is not only for experienced HR professionals. Students studying HR, those performing HR duties in their organization — whether or not “HR” is in their title — and business leaders with a general interest in HR can benefit from joining.

Multiple ways to join SHRM

SHRM is a national organization with more than 575 U.S. chapters and 285,000 members across the United States and around the world.

In Indiana, there are 15 local SHRM chapters that serve their professional HR communities by providing programming, development and networking opportunities.

HR Indiana SHRM serves as an intermediary between local chapters and the national organization to make sure resources and guidance reach local chapter members. The State Council does not have “members.” Instead, you can join by becoming a member of your local Indiana chapter, the national SHRM organization or both.

Are you a student?

If you are a student, find out if your school has a student SHRM chapter for you to join. Student membership offers many benefits, including networking opportunities, that can help give you an early jump on your career.

Which type of SHRM membership is right for me?

Local SHRM chapters are autonomous organizations. When you join the national SHRM organization, it is not automatic that you become a member of your local chapter, and vice versa.

Each type of membership offers benefits and opportunities. You can take advantage of them all by joining at both levels.
